Where JEV fits

  1. Read the submitted page. Our research tools retrieve the page. Gemini extracts up to five factual claims for checking.
  2. Find useful evidence. Search tools discover candidate sources. JEV helps select relevant results to read; a search snippet alone is not proof.
  3. Compare claims with passages. JEV receives each claim alongside cited excerpts and selects supported, contradicted or unknown. This tests the relationship to the provided text, not whether an entire website is trustworthy.
  4. Identify the central claim. JEV helps identify the main assertion and assess evidence criteria. Code applies the evidence rules to decide whether a REAL or FAKE stamp is justified.
  5. Explain the result. Gemini writes the explanation. Readers can inspect the sources, resolved claims and unanswered questions. JEV supplies structured decisions; it does not write the story.

Evidence first. No forced verdict.

Missing evidence does not mean fake. When the evidence cannot establish or refute the main claim, we return no verdict and restore the check allowance. JEV confidence and the displayed evidence ratio are not calibrated probabilities of truth. AI can make mistakes.

What this does not promise

A result concerns the checked claim, not an entire publisher or platform. Sources can be incomplete or wrong. We do not provide forensic image or video authentication. Sponsors buy placement, never verdicts. Submitted links and reports are public: do not submit private information.
