FOR DEVELOPERS AND RESEARCH TOOLS

Build on evidence, with JEV

Fake / Real is a public-link research application built with TypeSafe JEV. Developers can inspect the open-source integration and direct readers to saved reports with cited evidence.

What JEV does in this application

JEV helps select relevant search results, identify the central assertion and classify how cited passages relate to individual claims: supported, contradicted or unknown. The application applies deterministic evidence rules to the verdict. Gemini writes the narrative. These are separate responsibilities; a fluent explanation is not independent proof.

Read the implementation walkthrough and saved examples, the evidence policy, and the official TypeSafe documentation.

Use the public integration code

The fake-real-jev repository contains an MIT-licensed JEV client, extracted claim-checking logic and a runnable example. Follow its README for configuration and execution. The full Fake / Real application is private; the public repository is an integration example, not the complete hosted platform.

Link readers to an existing report

Copy the report URL from the browser after opening a saved result. The report query parameter identifies the original public URL. Preserve any scan parameter when sharing a particular saved check. A saved result retains its check date; opening the link does not launch new research.

A report link has this shape: https://www.fake-real.live/?report=URL_ENCODED_PUBLIC_URL. Link to an existing result you have inspected. Constructing a URL does not create a report for an unchecked link.

What can be integrated today?

Use a normal link to the checker, a saved report, or the REAL and FAKE catalogs. A reader can choose to start a check using their own allowance. We do not currently offer a supported public bulk API, RSS feed, embed or MCP service. Do not automate against internal endpoints as if they were a stable developer API.

For research agents

Our sitemap lists public informational pages. This page and the methodology are readable without running JavaScript. The selected report directory provides static publications with sources and scan dates. Other saved reports still require the web application to load their content. Cite the exact report and original evidence, retain the check date, and distinguish an automated assessment from an independently established fact.

Keep uncertainty visible

Missing evidence is not a FAKE verdict. Confidence in a claim-to-passage relationship is not the probability that a claim is true. Never treat advertising placement or community reactions as verification.
